"I was playing with the colors and
the shapes. The shades and contrasts express a lot. What looks like
a lot of white space is a light orange - I used a lot of water and
a little drop of orange paint. I was just playing, playing, playing.
The textures and ridges of paint give my painting a lot more richness,
it makes them a lot more expressive.
What's it about. Well, I don't want to
just use a body, a body , a body, even though it's geometric. Combining
a musical instrument with a body, for instance, is more interesting,
it makes you think, "Why did she do that?
What is that house, a toy?"
I really want you not just to see
what the thing is
- a vase or a piano - but more".
