A mist, cold air quickly traveled down my throat, sort
of like a razor blade sharpness through my chest, filling my lungs
with a scent of fresh fern trees.
A wet, narrow trail took me to a place under a massive umbrella
of green leaves. I stopped, closed my eyes and wrapped myself in
the green forest splendor.
Sublime, mystical, giving and strikingly beautiful, she once was
dragged into a game she knew no rules. No, it wasn't a gentle "Hug
a Tree" game, the game of people feeling disconnected and lonely,
it was rather a "need" the forest never knew before. Once
vigorous and majestic, these trees were brought to the ground, defeated
and lifeless. Robbed, betrayed and used, she sobbed and grieved,
wondering why she couldn't be heard by the hopeless, docile collection
of people she once sheltered.
Along the trail, her multi-layered cathedral of trees were laying
burdensome and enduring, determined that she would no longer be
who she was - a voiceless forest.
Dear God,
May the trees fill our forests,
And may our forests fill our earth
And may there be Green Peace.
Thank you,
Amen Alexandra Nechita
